Communications Platform
A responsive communications platform
Earlier on, even as reports were surfacing nationally about the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on the Black community, there appeared to be a lack of existing data of the Black experience in Black Greater Grand Rapids and how organizations were responding to Black need. As such, Black Impact Collaborative thought it was critical to develop a robust communications platform that would act as a two-way communication hub for us to gather information, while also sharing important knowledge for the well- being of Black Greater Grand Rapids (i.e. resources, application for financial support, sites of PPE distribution, outreach events, etc.). Black Impact Collaborative established a web presence through the development of a website and social media personas. A communications manager was hired to maintain the website and its content.
